Yes, it’s possible to make edibles from THCA diamonds

Making THC edibles from THCA diamonds involves decarboxylating your diamonds so the THCA they contain is turned into THC, then making these decarboxylated diamonds into a butter or coconut oil base that you can use in your favorite recipes.

In this article, we’re going to show you the process. Let’s get into it.

What Are THCA Diamonds?

THCA diamonds are a form of cannabis sativa concentrate that, per their name, take the form of semi-transparent crystalline structures.

THCA diamonds are known for their high purity, with their THCA content often surpassing 99%. This makes diamonds several times more potent than THCA flower.

While tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) by itself renders very few effects, it turns into tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) when heated, which creates the signature high effect.

Diamonds are typically crushed up and used in joints, allowing this process to happen. However, you can use THCA diamonds in other ways that allow them to be decarboxylated.

Can You Make Edibles from THCA Diamonds?

Yes, you can make edibles from THCA diamonds.

But in order to do so, you have to convert the THCA diamonds into a form that a) allows the THCA to be converted into its “activated” form, THC, and b) allows you to easily mix the diamonds into your recipes.

To do this, you have to decarboxylate your THCA diamonds beforehand, then make them into an oil base that can be used in recipes for baked goods and other foods.

How to Make Edibles from THCA Diamonds: Step-by-Step Process

If you want to make edibles from THCA diamonds, follow this process:

Step 1: Decarb The Diamonds

In its raw form, tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) is non-psychoactive. For it to be psychoactive and create euphoric and uplifting effects, it has to be converted into THC. This process is known as decarboxylation because THCA’s acid carboxylic acid ring (the “A”) is removed.

The decarboxylation process occurs when THCA is heated, which usually happens during the normal course of using a concentrate like diamonds (e.g. when you dab them using a heated nail).

You’ll need to perform the same process on your THCA diamonds so they’ll be “activated” in your final edible creation.

To do this, preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C). Carefully place your THCA diamonds onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they're spread out evenly.

Now, let them heat for 20-30 minutes in the oven. Melted THCA diamonds will look like thin, clear liquid.

Step 2: Create Infusion Base

While your THCA diamonds are in the oven, begin preparing your infusion base. You’ll want to mix your melted THCA diamonds with some sort of base to make them easy to use in recipes.

In a saucepan over low heat, melt down either butter or coconut oil. Once it’s liquified, you can mix in your liquid decarboxylated THCA diamonds. Stir carefully until both are mixed together.

Step 3: Prepare Your Edible Recipe

Now that your infused base is ready, it’s time to get creative in the kitchen!

Choose your favorite edible recipe – whether it's classic brownies, cookies, or gummies.

Then, simply swap our regular butter or oil in the recipe with your infused base, adjusting the quantity to suit your desired potency.

Step 4: Bake and Enjoy!

With base ready and recipe selected, follow the baking instructions provided by your chosen recipe to create an elevated treat.

Conclusion: Indulge Responsibly

While making elevated edibles using THCA diamonds is actually pretty easy, you’ll want to carefully control how much THCA you’re adding to your food. You want to create desserts or other goods that are potent, but not overwhelming.

When you do indulge in your THCA diamond-infused edibles, be sure to wait for at least 1 hour after you consume them before consuming more. THC takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to kick in, so waiting will ensure you don’t take so much that you feel an overwhelming high.

Additionally, be sure to store your edibles securely once you’re done – you’ll want to keep them out of reach of curious hands and paws!
